Rayola Dougher, senior economic advisor at API, will be in Birmingham to speak on employment opportunities for women in the oil and gas industry.

A lack of job-opportunity awareness, targeted recruitment and sector-related education has left women underrepresented in one of America’s fastest growing fields. However, the oil and gas industry, which is expected to add 1.3 million new jobs by 2030 and pays more than twice the national average, is prime for a generation of smart, capable women to join it. Rayola Dougher, senior economic advisor for the American Petroleum Institute, will address the Birmingham Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association about how women can be a part of their increasingly bright future in the energy industry and the impact it will have on their lives and country over the next couple decades.
